Slater Turf Farm is requesting resumes from candidates who are interested in management and leadership at the farm. Desirable candidates should be college graduates with a BS degree or higher in any of the following: turfgrass science, crop science, agronomy, soil science, agricultural business management, or any other plant science. Past farm work experience and current work experience in the agricultural and/or turf industry is an asset. Planning ahead, commitment to farm work, working with customers and co-workers, operating equipment, basic farm equipment maintenance, setting and operating irrigation equipment, problem solving skills, and knowledge of turfgrasses are valuable attributes.

Slater Turf Farm, located in Western North Carolina produces cool season and warm season turfgrass for the market in upstate South Carolina and Western North Carolina. It is a turfgrass sod producer specializing in branded and propriety turfgrasses suitable for the Carolinas.

The owner expects to place a capable person in a position of responsibility to assist running the farm business, to grow, maintain, and harvest the turfgrass crop.
