What is the best grass for me to buy?

The best grass to buy for your yard depends upon a number of factors. First, what time of year is it? Install cool season grasses in the fall, winter, or spring, but not in the summer. Install warm season grasses in the summer. Second, how much do you like to mow. If you want to mow grass and have a high maintenance program use bermudagrass sod, otherwise use centipede grass for low maintenance and less mowing. Third, do you want your lawn to be green the year round? If so, be sure to use a cool season grass such as Piedmont Pride, RTF, or Blue Heat. Why go brown with a warm season grass when you can be green with a cool season grass. How much soil preparation are you willing to do or pay for? If the answer is none, then go with centipede. If the answer is "All that is needed" you can choose one of the other grasses. Centipede does not need the lime and fertilizer incorporated into the soil that the other grasses need for success.
